7 DEADLY QUESTIONS WITH JILLIAN ANN
1. Ever thought of selling out like Jewel or Liz
Phair?
Selling out= doing something you dont want to do
Selling out = conforming to what other people want you to be
I think they were forced to sell out. The labels wont put out what they
wanted most likely. The artists tend to have very little control. The only way
for an artist to have control is to prove that people want them the way they are.
The only way the music industry will change is if fans help those they believe
in. If you're sick of music that all sounds the same, stand up and fight
for those trying to change it. If you dont support an aritst by buying a cd or
by coming to the shows or telling people about it because you're just unmotivated,
maybe this will motivate you. The reason we have CRAP MUSIC is the PUBLIC
IS BUYING IT. If you want to change it, STOP BUYING IT and really SUPPORT
those artists you love who ARE INDIE or small. If you want new music, then
you have to be a part of the change. It's easier to blame the artist, isnt
it? But it's really the public who the record industry obeys, so if you want change,
it's in your hands too. Now, back to the question: it's simple. i
will die for my music. If i have to, i will work for it. To me, it's all
that matters. That and creating it and sharing it is all that matters.
And i will give up whatever i need to do it .2. Ever heard a hit song on
the radio and thought “I
could write a better song that that blindfolded?
i stopped listening to the radio, but writing a pop song the world will love is
hard and easy. It's hard for me because it tends to bore me. i am
sick of hearing the same thing over and over. i am sick of it all sounding
the same, so i destroy the things that tend to make it all the same.3. Do
you ever get tired of being photographed or seeing pictures of yourself?
i only look at images when i need to edit them which is once. i love being
photographed because it's making art.
4. Do you ever get tired of eating healthy and crave
White Castles?
no, the only thing i crave is sex, cigarettes, bondage, kissing girls and
coffee 5. Ever rent a movie and think “I was born to play
that role.
hackers
6. Ever look back on a lyric or poem you’ve written
and wondered “Where in the hell was my head at when I
wrote that?
i never look back, always forward. i do things and leave them and move on.
i don't cling to them7. Ever get tired of your computer (slow connection
speeds, viruses, illegal operations) and just want to
throw it out the window?
i have a fast connection and love my new g4 power book from Mac. As far
as the rest, i am in a pretty smart group of geeks, so most problems are solved
before they happen. i've got a nice little family.
