Dreaming
i have a dream
of a loft in china town
one big space
wood floor
a window or so
i have a dream of sending him a key
and waiting till one night
he comes around and finds me
as i sleep
like i sleep
every night alone
one the floor
with headphones in my ears
to keep me company
i have a dream of rocks
and candles
plants
and skin next to mine
but till then i continue with
the mission and if
it is the will of the divine
i will sleep alone
till i die
i have a dream
of leaving Brooklyn
of moving to the city
i have a dream of making
a record millions will hear
i have a dream of singing on a stage
in front of thousands
i have a dream of building something
within the city
within the industry
i have a dream of these things
i have a dream of working long hours
and never giving up
of creating till i fall over
of traveling from cost to cost
of working till i fall over
of serving drinks
of promoting
of djing
of traveling
i have a dream of people
hating me
of pulling my past out
and trying to make it destroy me
i have a dream of bullets flying
always missing me
but coming at me regardless
i have a dream
of surviving
the test i see before me
i have a dream of the other side
of the battle field
where i will find peace
there
till then i will not
give in or give up
no matter how alone i feel
no matter how far i feel
i have a dream of working
till i cant work anymore
of believing and not giving up
of dreaming and not losing sight
even though it’s hard some days
like today i laid on the floor
and cried out
to God above
hear me now
i want to be closer
i don’t want to give in
i can’t make sense of this
but i will continue on anyways
i will strive forward
regardless
i have a dream of radio stations
and touring
of meetings
and auditions
of diets and yoga
of running and reading
of fighting
and believing
i will never give up on my dreams
